[T3] Endlesss Problems...another update.

So with the VOM set for volts and no change in which battery posts you put
the leads on, you got more than 5V one moment, and -7 Volts the next?

Time to try another meter - even a simple one with a needle for a few
dollars should do better than what you've got!

-  Did the VOM check at fuse box after that two or three day charge and it
was in mid 12.v range.  That went up when engine revved.   I thought that
was proof that the generator was charging....and that generator doesn't need
to be changed.

- Will run through all the charging check steps and record numbers to
send....tomorrow.

-  Went out to start it tonight after it sat for almost two days. Started
fine, first shot (after the usual priming), no cranking, idled fine, sounded
fine, and no smells.   But...I did a volt check across battery with key off,
key on, and engine on and engine revved.   Got readings....get this...in the
over  5 volt range.  But, again, when I turned on the VOM, without touching
anything, it read at minus 7 something. What's that?  Faulty VOM?   Or out
in cold too long? VOM battery isn't that old either.
Then...maybe the minus 7 and the plus five readings add up to over 12,
even up to 13 something.  I mean...would car even turn over with a 5 v
reading?

PS: I have no power using accessories. Radio off, clock works, but is slow.
That's it. AND the 'round town driving I do often includes high speed
highways.

PPS: I"ve also done the check with battery ground strap...touching it to
ground when everything's off to look for little spark indicating that
something is ON.  No sparks.
