Maybe you will get luck like me. I got a parts car the same year as mine
with a complete FI system intact for $100. So far the only thing I have
wrong with the system is the fuel pump is locked up and the trigger points
in the dis. doesn't seem to be giving a signal the control unit. We'll get
deeper into it once the engine is rebuilt. I know of a few of places around
here that may have what you need but NE Alabama maybe a little too far for
Western KY.  Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

i need to clarify a few points.

the car has the original engine that was converted to a single two barrel
carb. I don't know why.

someone removed the carb.

the gentleman who owned it died very shortly after the conversion. according
to his son.

i have every intention  of converting it back to FI if i keep it.

If indeed i can do that for say $500, then it is a no brainer.

There are two vw graveyards in this area, i will check and see if they have
anything.
