[T3] Loss of power at speed- could it be overheating- update

I understand my second Type 3 was bought cheaply by the PO as it wasn't
running well. He went through the carbs carefully and found a hair in one
of the small jets. It's surprising how much of a problem can be caused by
very small things. Others have cut a sliver of rubber hose off when
refitting it, which can lodge in the needle valve, or more puzzling, move in
and out of it causing intermittent fuel starvation. With two carbs, things
can be masked quite well if one carb is fine as the balance pipe evens the
mixture supply out.

WTG Mark! At least you didn't blame it on "lousy" VW's 5 years ago and sell
it at a loss! ;-)
