[T3] Early Bumpers

I just got a rear bumper for the Crate. its perfect except for one small
rust out they didn't get quite right but a little vintage sticker will take
care of that.  There is a stamp on the bottom that says 3 vw 62 is that the
date code or a part number? Weren't the early bumpers thinner or something?
This *looks* the same as the late ones but I don't have it side by side with
a later early one.
