[T3] Question about door handle key set

I thought they were marked on the face around the countersunk screw that
holds them to the handle trigger. I thought we were talking about the grey
mazac castings with the bend point that pushes on the lock-latch (the one
you can push on to open the door if the handle is not on). I think that's
the only difference from Bug ones. The handle casting is common to all late
Type 3s, I think, once they went away from the press button latch.

So I remain puzzled.

The part numbers for the 2 inner protrusions are:

Left: 311 837 205F
Right: 311 837 206F

(There were also B & E versions for both L & R.)

You wouldn't feel like pulling off a door handle and comparing
numbers, would you? ;-) The numbers are molded into the visible
face of those parts, right around the screw head that holds them in place.

And, yes, except for that inner protrusion, everything's identical for
'68-'71, and '72-3 are also the same except for the 2-finger triggers.

Jim, sorry I hadn't gotten back to you on this, but things came up.
Today I did get a chance to pull the handles (yes I pulled both sides
looking for those numbers), and didn't find anything except part of the
casting number on the inside indent of the handle itself (other than the key
cut number). And of that casting number, I could just barely read (with my
glasses on, and using a magnifying glass) 111/113/311. I couldn't make out
the rest, as it looks like it was either ground off, or it was barely there
when originally cast. Where you were describing, is completely ground
smooth, and chrome plated, unless I'm missing something. But putting them
side by side, they sure look identical. But apparently, the handle castings
are the same as used in a bug, but the inside parts are different.
