[T3] MPS calibration

I owned a 72 Squareback that was purchased new in Great Britain, it was LHD,
had a UK fuel sticker in the gas door and otherwise seemed to be US spec
although the black vinyl seat upholstery was a bit different. Oddly, the
birth certificate listed the engine as a l.2L.... it was FI. There were tax
reasons for listing the engine as smaller though weren't there??

There were quite a few LHD Type 3s in the UK around the Air-force bases,
mostly brought there by US servicemen. I guess they were most likely
purchased when in Germany while the guys served with US Forces over there.

;-) That's better!

That's really interesting. I saw very few Type 4s and 914s and never noticed
that they had a 5 pin TVS where the 5th pin was left disconnected.

I once worked on a '72 Type 3 that had been brought back from England. At
least that was what I was told, but it was LHD. When I was checking out the
FI, I found that the 5th pin signal wasn't getting thru, so I finally found
that wire folded back inside the TVS connector boot. The pin was crimped on
the end of the wire, but it appeared to have never been inserted in the
connector. I inserted the wire and fixed a few other things and the car ran
great for quite a few years after that.
