No big tricks, other than I put a micro switch in the wiper lever so it
would operate as STOCK.

Stock on my car, is kinda only skin deep.... ;-)

I have an electric washer motor and have been considering putting it in.

I suffer from the same sort of issue of always finding that I have not
enough air to make it work at the most inconvenient times here in
Colorado they use magchloride to melt the ice and it sticks to
everything. There is also a little residual till we get a good couple
rains.

Is there any special trick to adding it in to the existing system?

I gave up on mine 25 years ago after being hosed down one too many
times.
Put in an electric washer motor. I do have the black and red caps from
all
my parts cars though, so if you need parts let me know.

I've been having some unreliability of the washer bottle pressurising
valve
on my Squareback, emptying the spare overnight. I brought it into the
warm
to give it a look over, and try to understand what's what.

I assumed the valve is faulty, but working through things logically,
suspect
now that it may simply be the tyre connector end. The outer rotates on
the
spigot allowing it to be tightened on the tyre valve. The inner end of
the
spigot holds the tyre valve open so it pressurises. There must be wear
on
that joint by now - maybe dirt gets in there too - so it's an obvious
place
for air to leak out.

If the spigot doesn't seal properly to the outer part, the tyre will
empty
even if the valve is working fine.

The higher-pressure Squareback ones (red) are very hard to find, and not
available new, and the black ones are not easy either.

It seems to have held for a couple of days now, so I'm just hoping it's
just
the connector that wasn't sealing.
