I have an electric washer motor and have been considering putting it
in.

Is there any special trick to adding it in to the existing system?

No, on my 65 Notch , I just bypassed the wiper switch mounted hoses (ran
my
own new hose), and added a micro switch to the under dash lip. It sits
right next to my added hazard switch in an already existing hole. I put
the
pump under the tank (my pump came from a full size Chevy van), and I
just ran
a wire out to it, and a ground wire that I added to the left front
headlight ground screw.
On my 71 Notch, and my wife's Fastback, I did a similar set up, but used

the defog switch to run the pump (the empty switch was already there,
filling
 the dash hole). ;^)
