[T3] Rattling shifter

I just picked up a new coupler. Can some folks look at these pictures and
tell me if this is going to work? I am concerted about the tube that goes
across the middle and holds the shift rod. It's not exactly round and looks
poorly made. Is this what they all look like?

IF that doesn't look right, then I could probably just use my old one yes?
I could take the new plastic pieces from this one and install them in my
old coupler and probably have a good coupler to work with. Does this sound
good?
I just thought that "tube" looked pretty shoddy and was definitely not
round. Since I don't have the shift rod out yet, I have no idea what the
hole in the end looks like.
Thanks for any help on this....
