Jim I'll box up this distributer and ship it out. I presume the  
cap,rotor, etc are not necessary.
I just took the car to a transmission re-build shop. They went through  
it a few years back. The feeling is it is a simple fix.
I haven't driven it more than 3 to 4 miles while correcting the  
charging issue, and fixing a squeal in the fresh air fan. It was a joy  
to drive, and watch the battery stay happily charged. When back I'll  
have a go at the "grounding wire " from the distributer. Then back to  
the list of fine corrections.
