[T3] fuel tank leak

Could you add a bit of sealant suitable for fuel systems?

1/32" sounds pretty thin, less than 1mm. I'd have tried something more like
2mm. Is it coming from the centre hole, or from the threads, do you think?

Check the surfaces for lumps, and try again with two thicknesses. Or try
some sealant. I've never removed it on a Type 3, only a Beetle, so you
probably won't have to do it again! But don't use Araldite, just in case!

Report:

I used Fel-pro rubber-fiber gasket material (NAPA) rated for gasoline, oil
and coolant, 1/32" thick in the correct location just under the flange and
it still leaks.

Any ideas?
