I'm sure no-one here feels bothered by your post.  
I think we are wondering why your father changed the tail lights for Beetle
ones though!

You will certainly learn more about your car by doing as much as you can
yourself.

You should try to contact other Romanian Type 3 owners - they may know where
to get parts from if you need them, and I'm sure will help as much as they
can.

Zsolti thinks there are about 15 Type 3s he knows of but more that are
hiding - I think yours is one that has been hiding, but it has found an

We have some Type 3 owners from Romania who are on the
www.vwtype3and4club.org.uk/forum , so you are not alone.  It looks in very
good condition - give it a good clean inside  and out.  You will probably
find you don't have to spend very much to get it looking tidy and working.
Often cars have been left unused for 10 or 15 years and you can get them
running again without much problem.  

You will also feel very much more proud of what you have done if you learn
to do it yourself, which doesn't cost very much, mostly time.  When you are
ready and have a working car you can decide when to strip it down if it
needs it and do a good respray.  You can do a lot of the preparation work
yourself, and save money.

Hello , i'm an old fan of the type 3 Vw .
I have a Vw 1500n from 1963 (picture link below) and i really want to
restore it to a functional state as it is now rusting at my dads house.
The reason i have told you all this is that i need some money to make this
dream come true.
I recently got my drivers license and i am asking you all here on T3 group
for a little financial help to get my car running again.
First i need to get it ready for obtaining the license plates and
registration , fix the engine , a paint job and some other minor fixes. Then
gradually i want to fully restore it (on my own) after this damn world
crisis passes.
I don't expect to get the money upfront or anything , this is just a simple
request and please forgive me for asking but i am running out of options.
