Most of us are going by ferry - Dover to Dunkirk.  It's about 2 hours (maybe
a bit less), and usually a fair bit cheaper than the tunnel.  Also, it's
about a 200 mile drive to Dover from Bristol, so having a couple of hours
rest is a good idea.

On one of the previous trips, I took the day ferry from Harwich to Hook of
Holland, then drove through the night.  It's about 100 miles shorter, but
the ferry costs quite a bit more, so it works out more expensive.

How do you get your cars to Germany? Do you take the Chunnel, or is there a
ferry that's easier?
