Below are excerpts from all of the ZDDP threads i have seen come through over the last couple of years.
most of them are different products
one web site with more oil specs and info than i will ever understand
and few opinions or coments that i have tried to retain and atribute to who the comment came from.

maby one of the guys (or a few) that have alot more experience could offer opinions on eaxch or overall recomendation.
somday i hope to have my poor Velda bach on the road, MC and cylinders have been rebuilt (Jim? - i think, thank-you they look great)
I just never seem to find the time, Thank-you to all you guys who take the time to offer up this great info.

Read this and then decide on an oil that suits your needs

Lucas -
http://www.lucasoil.ca/products/product.asp?id=9&cat=HeavyDuty
It is the right weight for summer use in an air-cooled engine, and has the right amount of zinc to protect a flat cam diesel engine.
so you will not have to add any additives to it. Just don't try to extend the drain interval unless you have a good oil filter installed on the engine.
- Garvin claims Jim said that the Lucas product he bought, if used as directed, would bring the ZDDP level to 5000 ppm
- Garvin claims Jim said that you'd probably use the product about 2oz per oil change and leave it in there,
as opposed to draining the system after 1000 miles like the bottle says.
Brad Penn Penn Grade 1 Racing oil -
http://www.bradpennracing.com/Products/Racing-Oils.aspx
is the same "green" oil everyone was familiar with back when Kendall GT was the best motor oil money can buy, as both the original and this newer product both come from the same facility using genuine Pennsylvania crude. These oils are proven to protect cams, rockers, lifters, and all valve train components as well as provide superior rod bearing life because of their very high HTHS viscosities AND low levels of individual detergents to net a high level of detergency with the use of Ca, Mg, and Na synergistically. Just ask anyone about the "green" Kendall oil from decades past and you'll know why we like it so much. Likewise for winter service, we run Brad Penn 10w40 API SJ. Jake Raby reccomends nothing but the 20W50 in the summer and 10W30 in the
winter, but the 20w50 only comes in partial synthetic... which is a mistake
with an older engine without an oil filter.
Penzoil -
25W50 RACING oil. It gives the 1400ppm that is recommended without any mixing or guessing. Unfortunately it doesn't come in a lower weight.
GM or AC Delco EOS -
(Engine Oil Supplement). You add 1/2 of the container (about 8 oz) per oil change. It's not a big container either, and it's expensive. But it's designed to be used with any oil, or oil weight. : ) I got this info from the GM dealer. It's designed for use in "flat tappet cams",
Gibbs oil-
makes a high zinc oil for our cams as well. It is conventional.

ZDDPlus -
I'm adding one bottle of eBay-purchased ZDDPlus to my 5qts of 10w-30, so I guess my fresh 1776 will be the guinea pig for their RDA of zinc/phos.

Valvoline VR1 Racing Oil -
contains .13 percent of zinc and .12 percent of phosphorus. MSDS - ZINC ALKYLDITHIOPHOSPHATE, 1-1.5% of the quart.
Valvoline "Not Street Legal" Racing Oil -
contains .14 percent of zinc and .13 percent of phosphorus.

Engine Break-In Oil Additive TB Zinc-Plus-
$14 for a 16 oz bottle.

Thats all i have collected over the years, any further info or comments would be great

May the GOD of love and peace delight to dwell with and bless you.
