[T3] Bosch regulator

I googled the number and got the Bosch Control Unit, glow plug system for
Renault, Alfa Romeo Part Number: 0 333 402 006, as I see you did.

I've never heard of a VW Type '33', so I doubt it's a VW number.

The was the number on the Bosch box, seller says its T3, but Ive never heard
of that number eather

A full Bosch # would have 10 digits. Doesn't look like a legit VW 
number either.

I have no experience with them yet, but they look to me like they are 
made to dissipate a lot of heat. It's possible that what you are 
seeing is normal.
