[T3] Fuel pump rod

Not true. They were fitted as standard to 32PDSIT on Type 3s from 1965 at
least. My father's '64 had them retro-fitted after a hydraulic lock
occurred in just those circumstances, which fortunately he allowed to run
down onto the road from the driveway and the fuel escaped into the sump I
guess, and he started it later with no problem.
The service manager explained when he asked him about it later, and showed a
bent conrod that another owner suffered when he tried to bump-start it.

Maybe your carbs are earlier?

None on the 32PDSIT. I believe only the Bus carburetor 32-34 PDSIT had them.
