5/16" = 8 mm, but that turns out to be a better fit for the FI 
components than the OE 7 mm or the later 7.5 mm. The smaller stuff 
will stretch over the fittings and seal nicely, but it fails quickly 
where the extra stretch leads to extra stress.

If the fittings on your carbs and fuel pump measure a bit more than 
.312" then the 5/16 will work for you, but you'll still have to 
figure out how much length you'll need.
