I run 30-grade and it works fine here in the UK temp range (usually 30 to
80F).  The thinking is that it's thinner and flows better at higher temps
which keeps the oil cooler working better - there are others who use 20-50
multigrade.  Books have been written just on VW aircooled oil needs!  I've
heard some UK males prefer warm beer to cool lager - not me!
