On my '67 Fastback the rear view mirror pulls out. There are some spring like holders in the body of the car that holds the rectangular base of the miror in-place. It may take considerable pulling, but it will come out. Don't cut the headliner. OK I just didn't want to get too rough with it and break it. Thanks! Dennis
