I use marvel mystery oil every 20K or so to remove the carbon build up under
the intake valves, Let it sit on there a couple days and the stuff comes
right off.

I typically use "marvel mystery oil" for that purpose. I winterize vehicles
that will sit for 6-9 months. Smokes like a chimney but the engines have an
internal film of oil in the valve area and in the cylinders. Diesel may be a
bit less costly.
