>Sorry, been too busy to reply to this, but we're getting some long needed
rain today, so I've got a little more time. Read on:

That's OK been busy this week for me as well.

>As others have said, 18 goes to the starter terminal that gets power only
when the starter is cranking. You can tape that wire off or ground it, but
you MUST NOT connect it to the starter terminal that's hot all the time.

Yea I think I'll just tape it off at the end and tie it up somewhere with a
wire tie.

>One of those first 2 must be for the cyl head temp sensor. I'm not sure
about the 2nd of that pair. The second sound like the 2 that get power from
the main power relay. There would have been a pair of short white >wires
that come into the LR corner of the engine compartment, just forward of the
pressure sensor. Since your car had been converted to carbs, those might
have gotten cut off.

Yes I got those figured out now. Just took me awhile to know what is what
because the numbers had faded off to where you couldn't read them.

>'72s for California also got special stuff related to enabling the vacuum
advance only in top gear. If your harness donor car was from CA, you might
have those connections, but I'd expect you to have even more, too.

The donor car was originally bought new in Nashville TN and the FB was
originally delivered in Rome GA and then moved to the Gadsden AL dealer
where my parents bought it. So no Cali equipped cars here.
