I think most of our cars will do over 100 on a windless, level road, 
if they are in good condition and you give them enough time to get up 
there. That's just for short bursts, however. VW sets the max and 
cruising speed at something like 84, but that's for sustained speed.

Of course you have to be sure that everything's ready for this, like 
tires, suspension, etc, not just the engine.
