[T3] Fuel filler hose?

Although Max's problem is different, the more common problem is  just that
the OE sealing rings are deteoriated, displaced, torn, or missing.
 
 
On Sue's Fastback, it was definitely the hose itself. The outside of the
hose was saturated in fuel, and once removed, the cracks were visible to the
naked eye. Replacing it cured the fuel smell.
