Dennis,

I plan to go to the Invasion from Atlanta with my car on a trailer. There
are a couple of guys in the Atlanta area with a T3 and a T34, who I have
been lobbying to go, who seem to have a lot of interest. The day at Watkins
Glen has been the aspect of the trip that got their interest. We could go
in a caravan and any car that happens to get disabled could be placed on the
trailer. If past experience is a guide, any problems encountered on the
trip could probably be repaired by the guys at the Invasion (Engines have
been pulled for repair in the motel parking lot at two Invasions). There is
never a shortage of expertise and some parts at these Invasions. You really
need to think seriously about making the trip. I would like some company on
the drive since I and my spouse have been the only people that I can recall,
to make the trip to past Invasions from this area.

OK Marion you are starting to convince me. A convoy heading from the south
up there would make me feel more secure. I doubt my wife would want to go
that far in a non AC car as well but my middle son who will be 14 by then
probably would. I doubt my oldest would as he will probably have a wife by
then too. My youngest has no interest in this kind of stuff. It will
depend on how these next few months go. If we can finish it by the end of
the school year then that will give me a year to tweak it for this so maybe.

Dennis, tell your wife that she can ride in the air conditioned tow vehicle.
We have an extended cab truck with two seats. That is the only way my wife
will go unless we fly. Riding in an old non air conditioned VW for 900
miles on the expressway is not something she is willing to do. If your wife
is from the Sand Mountain area, they will have much to talk about since that
is where my wife grew up. The worst case scenario, in case the car is not
ready, is to make the trip without your car. I have done that twice.
Nothing beats meeting the people on this list face to face. They are a
great bunch folks. We have a great time and if you don't have a car you can
cruise with me or anyone else with a car.
