I didn't think of the rational explanation that it was mis-posted.

Last year we had an official drought in March/April, with bans on using
hosepipes etc, then the wettest summer for years that filled all the
reservoirs again.

The only predictable thing about weather (in the UK) is that it's not
predictable!
