Yes, but you'll still need brass cartridge cases - so not even that is for
ever.  ;-)

I haven't heard mention of anything like that for TX. All cars 25 years old
or more are completely exempt from smog requirements. Even if they
eliminated that exemption, you could still register your vehicle as an
"antique vehicle", and then be exempt from the safety inspection altogether,
emissions and otherwise. But then again, they're more hesitant to pull that
sort of stuff on us here, we have higher capacity magazines :-)
