[T3] Opposite of Terri's problem

Just a note about those electromagnetic idle jets. Don't gas-up full and
park with the front steeply uphill unless you have the cut-off jets fitted.
Fuel can flow into the cylinder and lock the engine. If you try a rolling
start, it could bend a con-rod.
We had a hydraulic lock occur on a '64 1500S which didn't have these fitted
originally, and the starter wouldn't turn the engine over, but fortunately,
my father just let the car roll down into the street and left it, and a
couple of hours later when he tried again, it was fine. The service manager
showed dad a bent conrod from someone who had tried to bump start theirs
when they had the same thing happen.
It should be a g50 idle jet (not a 55).

I had the idle cut-off jet vibrate loose on my possessed left carb on
Sophy on the way back from the Colorado Springs Invasion. It did not fall
all
the way out, but it did make for poor running. Big air-leak on that carb.
Like John said, they mainly fail by falling out, or getting knocked
against something. I've had both sides try and vibrate out before I swapped
to
the mechanical version. Once I did that, I didn't have any more issues with
them. I think I did that back in 1992 or there abouts. They're still in that
set of carbs, and they're on my 65 Notch. I'd like to say I got them from
CIP, but it could have AirCooled.net, or CB Performance. I've slept since
then. ;-)
