Hey Dennis and group. The web site for radio repair is http://vwradio.com/ The guys name is Nick Stokes. He did rebuilt my am-fm stereo Sapphire radio for $75.00 including shipping. For that price he disassembles the radio, cleans out everything, changes all the capacitors and then regreases and readjusts everything. He also cleans up the faceplate and the exterior. Keep in mind he does not restore the dials or faceplates, just cleans them up as best as he can. My radio did not play when I sent it to him but plays wonderfully now. The adjustment screw really only effects am reception. You need to remove the tuning dial on the right side of the radio and you can see the hole. Set the am dial for around 1400 and turn it one way or another until you get the strongest signal.
