Not 70 until March 2016!
You're right, people are living a lot longer on average, and one of the
important things is to stay actively interested in life.  I guess in the
past some people were literally worn out at 65, but with better diet and
medical care these days they can go on a lot longer and still enjoy being
active.  Well, I hope so anyway.  ;-)

It does get harder to crawl around under the Type 3, and I'm doing a bit of
that with the Golf estate (Variant) too at the moment to celebrate its
100,000 miles (not a lot for a Tdi over 15 years).  I guess most cars get to
100,000 miles without major engine work, but it certaiunly wasn't that way
until recently.  VW used to give a certificate for 100,000Km (62,500 miles)
without overhaul.

70!  Wow, I wouldn't have guessed it!   70 is not as old as it used to
be.....  I think you and Anne are good for a couple more... but one invasion
at a time, never know what the future holds!

I didn't realise I had made such a definite statement about it being the
last time, but you've probably remembered it right!  It certainly doesn't
get easier with age, and a lot can happen in two years, but at the moment
there's no specific reason for it being the last one.  Car hire can get a
bit harder at 70, but I think most companies still prefer the business, so
probably best not to put money on it being the last time, Adriel.  ;-)

I figure it happens every two years, however, this is the last time Mr. and
Mrs. Hall are coming to the States. :( I.I.R.C., will be in the Northeast,
so most likely that will be even further from you. So hope this is some
sympathy...
