Ive got 2 years on a new one, holds the voltage VERY steady, no problems or
issues but they DO run HOT.  And the case is hot too (electrically) so make
sure you don't short anything to the case.

I have them, but you should be able to get them locally by asking for 
a Bosch 30-019. Bosch didn't change their part number when they 
migrated from the old mechanical style to the newer solid state 
style.

I still don't have any experience with the new style VR. They should 
be great, but there is always the chance that they tend to be fragile 
under certain kinds of electrical abuse, like short circuits.
