ISP West sells both aluminum and stainless steel versions of the side  trim
(8 pcs). I actually prefer the stainless, even if it's about 20 bucks more,
as I can re-polish it (IF it ever gets a dent), or tries to dull. You can't
do that with the aluminum, as it's anodized, and you're only polishing the
thin clear coat on it). Plus the SS version still holds it's shine better.
Note; this is just my opinion, and I have it on 2 of the cars in my yard (I
sold the 3rd one). I think I think I paid 150 for the side trim I used on my
71 Notch (might have been with shipping since it was a few years ago). 
Keep in  mind that it still uses the OE VW or repop clips to hold it in 
place. : )

I have been very pleased with the stainless trim we got from ISP west. One
of the few new parts you can get for our cars that seem better than what
came with it.
