The spare wheel lays at a shallower angle in the early body shape to reduce
its height, so the shape of the well is different to accommodate the tyre at
a different angle.

Interesting, I never realized that the spare tire well changed with the body
style; I thought they were all alike. I just checked my old parts book and I
see 2 versions listed: a plain and a "C" version. I wonder what happened to
A & B.
