You have to set the dwell first, because changing the dwell changes 
the timing, but changing the timing doesn't change the dwell. Any 
sort of medium heavy, sticky grease should work okay. Just be sure to 
clean off all the old accumulated residue from the rubbing block each 
time you re-lube.
