Lack of fuel would be one possibility, with many possible causes:
fuel pump not running, fuel pump runs but doesn't pump, fuel filter
clogged, fuel strainer clogged. Have you installed my overflow hose
repair kit? If not, I suspect fuel pump damage as well as a clogged
filter due to water and dirt in the gas tank.
Check the fuel pressure. Our fuel pumps are all getting to an age
where one little rubber bit is failing. I rebuild the pumps and
replace that part.
Other possibilities: dwell, valve adjustment, FI trigger point wear
(rebuild distributor) broken wires in FI wiring harness, etc, etc.
