I forgot to add that another alternative, might be something that  the 32 
ford kit car guys use. I only say that, as their MC is located under  the 
floor.

We re-wired  a 37 Ford pick-up for a guy I know last year. It had cable
brakes on it so no MC but the brake light switch was under the floor. Since
it was a kit car it probably used a 39-50 Ford set up so I seen that set up
when my uncle had a 49 Ford PU.  Also the same guy who has the 37 also has a
49 Chevy PU we done some work on this past year. Both have the set up you
describe. Guess next time he brings it in need to look at ti closer. Also I
can check some of my Ford truck sources too but for now got to get it back
on the road quick.
