Just tightening the right side of the sway bar does not typically
solve this problem. You need to fix the problem on the left side.
The usual problem here is that the dimple in the left end of the sway
bar has become elongated, allowing the left trailing arm to move,
rather than being fixed with respect to the sway bar. What you really
need to do, is remove the sway bar and drill a deeper dimple for the
set screw. You'll need to be careful in determining the original
position when you drill the deeper dimple.
In extreme instances I have flipped the bar over and drilled a
completely new dimple on the other side.
The sway bar can be removed by jacking up the car, removing both
front wheels, removing the attachment bolts on both ends, and driving
the bar out to the left side. It's actually a lot easier than you
might expect.
