[T3] Type 3 console.

Hello all,

I recently contacted TMI regarding purchasing one of their VW centre
consoles.  To my surprise there is one made for a type 3 and a separate one
for a beetle.  The type 3 model is a lot dearer ( a little more than double
).

Is the tunnel of my type 3 larger or smaller than that of a beetle or the
fact the type 3 model has lower volume sales hence the difference in price?
I have put this question to TMI however no answer.  I am currently on an
overseas trip and do not have my beetle or type 3 available to check.

I hope all you invasion people have a wonderful time. I will make it there
one day!

I use to use a console on Clementine that was originally used on a 70
beetle.  The 70 bug was my parents first vw and they got the console at the
dealer when they bought it. Fast forward a couple of years and they traded
this car for my Clementine. They kept the console and there it stayed till
89 when I quit driving it. Unfortunately it got lost sometime between 1989
and when we started restoration in 2010. So to answer your question on
tunnel size (or the hump as we sometimes call it in my neck of the woods)
yes they are the same or close enough to interchange between the two.  I
wish I could find another one myself as they are quite handy.
