I recently read something about Oil bath filters being the most efficient filters out there.
I bought this used and just wanted to make sure I am starting out on the right foot with it.

Russ always said do the oil change, then use the left over oil in the air filter. One is only to fill to the orange line.

As for cleaning, there is no way for it ever to be fully clean, B.T.D.T.. What actually filters is the oil trapped in the the coconut fibers. The dirt falls to the oil below when the particles become heavy enough. So changing the filters oil gets most of the dirt and the rest is handled by the fresh oil. Believe it or not, oil bath air filters do a better job than paper filters. They are designed for dusty dirt roads and fields. The reason for the change to paper filter was the roads being paved. If a tractor has a filter, it most likely will be an oil filter. If I could adapt a oil filter to replace the $50 paper element, I wouldn't even hesitate. Yes they are messy, but the waste is more recyclable and therefore more environmentally sustainable then the mixed refuse of a paper element. Hope this helps.

Thank you so very much!
