Beetle pistons are 40 mm while ours are 42, so this doesn't work 
unless you've replaced your Type 3 calipers with the currently 
available calipers which are actually Beetle calipers.

There's a further complication: There are also replacement calipers 
out there that are different and take yet another rebuild kit.

I try to limit my work to the OE style calipers. Going with any of 
the Beetle replacements results in an ~10% reduction in stopping 
power.
