I don't think they ever produced a twin-port 1300.  For increased power they
just stuck in the 1500 engine for a time, then for the bulbous-fronted
Beetle they used the 1600 DP and called it a 1302S Super Beetle.

OK I thought I had read somewhere that European beetles got a higher
compression 1300 DP that put out about the same amount of HP that the 1600
DP offered in the US. Kind of like the dome piston 1500S T-3 engines.  It
was several years ago when I read it so I may remember wrong.
