It's listed as Type 3 from Ch 318 000 001 to 319 500 000 in the Type 3 parts
book as well, with no reference to voltage.  I guess apart from being
beefier contacts and any attached wiring, it would work fine on 12V anyway.
Maybe they did supply some later vehicles with 6V systems - they seem to
have still been supplying 1500cc engines through into the '70s, if not to
the end of production.  Do the wires on the switch look like 6V rated - ie
thicker than the 12V ones?
I can't begin to suggest how it came to be there anyway - maybe he bought an
auction lot of pans and it was in with that!

It's a Bug switch, from 1968-1970.
