That's a starter originally made for an automatic - doesn't need the front
bushing, so that's one less thing to go wrong! Use it and enjoy!

Does it all work now?

Subject: [T3] Starter Question

Putting "new" (used) starter into the car ('73 FI Std. engine).   Starter
passed its test at auto shop.
But...the "new" starter is bigger than the broken one, and it does not have
that "pin" that slides into the hole in the engine.   ( "Pin" is about half
inch diameter, and an inch and a half or so extending out from the gear.)

The new one fits nicely into the mounting, and gears seem to be compatible.
MUST the replacement be same as the old...with that "pin" ?
