It sounds like you may have been trying to thread the cable thru with 
the Bowden tube installed. Yes, the threaded end of the cable is too 
long to get around the curve of the Bowden tube. The solution is to 
disconnect the Bowden tube and thread the cable thru and then 
reinstall the Bowden tube once the cable is all the way thru.

That should make the job go much faster.  ;-)
