[T3] hot starting 1600 single port motor.

Hello Everyone,

My 1966 type 3 fastback is harder to start when hot. I read in the original manual and it states "you must push the accelerator to the floor when starting hot" I have tried this and it seems to start a little better!

Has anybody experienced this starting problem?

Maybe there is a way to help the motor start better (when hot) other than foot to the floor?

Car running well now and just completed over 4,000 Aussie miles without a hitch. Everyone I encounted on the trip wanted to know more about my beloved fasty.

Regards,

Ross Clarke (Australia, down under)

I will definitely check - though what I got is a cool accessory, I would prefer to use the less kludgy VW option if possible. :-)

The switch bracket installs on the nose cone of the transaxle and the operating lever installs on the shift rod, so that when the shift rod is moved into reverse position, the operating lever contacts the switch and closes the circuit.
