[T3] Yet another tuneup

Last time I did a tuneup on the 71 I didn't think Id ever need to do
another, but at 149Kmi

Its time again, the power at the top end was lacking a bit. No major
issues, the vac canister had

Failed but other than that it just needed the standard stuff. The
compression is still great on all 4, and maybe

It's the Karma of the low compression Russ Wolfe heads but this engine just
doesn't seem to want to die!

Couple things I noted, the MARK 10 that I bought off Jim has stopped most of
the wear on the points, I didn't even

Change them just re-gapped and since you cant get the good quality
Lubripoints anymore its good to make the ones I have

Left last. I decided to braze up the couple of small holes the muffler had,
it's the original muffler with this engine and has

Almost 25 years on it but since the engine looks to be around for a bit
longer it will be nice to have it quiet again.

Of course now the extra back pressure will blow the whole thing up! :-)

I still think its nuts to drive an engine this old to Arizona, you can see
the age in the vital signs.. yea, the oil pressure very slowly

Gets less but the "heat stroke" when coming off the highway is greater now
than ever before as the oil that was in the heads gets drained down

And circulated thru the cooler. You see the temps go up faster as the RPM
goes higher so Ive been keeping my cruising speeds reasonable

As cruising above 70 makes it noticeable hotter as there is more blowby. Id
almost try the trip but the high elevations and high heat of

The Southwest in June is likely to be too much for it at this age, I
remember it was right on the line at the Colorado invasion being at 8000
feet

And 110 out. I think Ill fly out this time.

The rest of the car just turned 350K mi, but that was all gone thru only 40K
ago with the restoration.
