If the car sat for a few months, the battery will be "sulfated" but 
that's not a death sentence. It can be rejeuvenated by long slow 
charging. A quick heavy charge will damage it, but if you can put an 
amp or less (charge on lowest setting) for a week, that will probably 
bring it back to new.
