[T3] do the late 73 T-3 fuel injected distributors have the timing retard ?

No, and with the Pertronix this would be gone even if it had started 
out with retarded #3 timing. There's a memo from Bosch about which 
distributors came with the retarded #3 and I don't think it includes 
any Type 3 distributors. Of course, there might be a later memo that 
I don't have.

You're right, the oil cooler air has it's own exit. So if the cooler 
fins are clogged this "only" prevents cooling of the oil.
