Bummer on the 68, I did not realize it was in that bad shape body wise. It seems you have a good plan of attack though ;-)

Before anything gets improved there is much to be repaired.

The wiring is a mess and much of it is hanging down under the dash.

The rear wheel bearings are rumbly and will be replaced before the car goes more than a new miles.

And there is substantial rust down low behind the rear fenders. Fixing that will probably require donor sections from my 68 square at which point the square becomes a non-driving parts car.

The 67 Fastback is to become my new daily-driver, replacing the very rusty 68 squareback. As soon as I start moving critical parts from the square to the fasty there will be a period of time where neither is driveable. I need to minimize those times.

So I will first concentrate on making the new fasty reliably drivable. That means sorting out the wiring and the wipers, replacing the rear wheel bearings and anything that the engine may need.

Before winter I will probably move the entire engine and megasquirt system from the squareback to the fasty. I have nothing against stock but the 1776 megasquirt setup has just turned out to be an amazing all-season solution. If the stock engine presently in the fasty turns out to be good for the short-term, I can take the time to freshen up the tin on the 1776 before putting it into the fasty.

I think Max is one to not stay with the as good as it is but needs better than it is. ;-)
