On my 73 SB you need to position the seat forward just enough to relsese
the flat spring tab that is at the very front of the center seat rail then
pull up on the seat release near the E brake making sure the flat spring
clip is still up and slide the seat back to the rear . If you have the
plastic caps on the outer rails a the rear remove them.

All that keps the seat from slidding off the center rail is that flat
spring tab . It needs to be moved up at it's rear edge and is fastened at
the front is has a hook shape you will see once you lift it up at the rear
most edgethat needs to stay up and will on it's own once the seat is back
enough. If you still have the plastic clips on the outer rails save those
they keep the seat from rocking. some of mine are gone.
