I suspect they're still available, but pricey, because few bulbs 
these days still have metal bases. Everything's gone to pressed glass 
bases. Our dash bulbs actually last a very long time. In nearly 50 
years, I've replaced fewer than a handfull, mostly turn signal bulbs, 
because they get cycled so much more than the others.

I have lots of good used bulbs from long dead cars. That's what I use 
for replacements.
